Conducting Interviews

Two weeks ago I had the opportunity to conduct interviews for New Hire Office Visits. New Hires are either just finishing up college or have a few years of work experience. By the time I met them, they’d already gone through several rounds of interviews and this was the final test, so to say. The final meeting provided a chance for them to meet Accenture employees and for employees to share with the applicants their experiences working with the company. Ideally, it would be a good match for everyone. It was my first time conducting interviews and it was a lot of fun.

It was great to meet energetic people that are (hopefully) going to work for the company one day soon. And I was quite impressed with their knowledge and motivation. While I don’t know how the final assessments turned out, I hope to run into my interviewees in the hallways of our office one day soon.

Hi George and thanks for your comments. Congratulations on your offer from Accenture. As for advice, I'd say learn as much as you can. Accenture is a huge organization with a lot of different segments and areas. During your first few years, try as much as you can, then you will be able to decide what you like best. Then, specialize and learn as much as you can about that specific area. And enjoy your trip to India! It's a fascinating country with so much to see and do. Just go with an open mind and you will be well-rewarded. Enjoy!

Hi Chanda and greetings from Australia! It has been insightful reading your blog and the various projects you have worked on. I have recently progressed through the interview process for recent graduates (here they are called Graduate positions but the process appears to be similar). I have been fortunate to be offered a position with Accenture and will be starting upon the completion of my degree. With several years experience under your belt, what advice could you offer to an enthusiastic person such as myself starting up? By the way, I have found some of the cultural information about India very interesting. I am in fact planning a trip there for a couple of weeks before commencing at Accenture in Melbourne. Thanks in advance and warm regards
